VODCAST 2: General Film Opening Conventions

...

...

I created a Vodcast outlining the general film opening conventions by using 2 movie openings, Baby Driver and Scream, both of which are influences for our group film opening.

  1. Your VO audio levels were highly variable, hard to hear at points!
C: I'd want reference to more examples for an A - and be careful on using such long clips, you risk having them blocked as not 'fair usage'. The baby D work might be better suited to an individual opening analysis. You need a clear (numbered) list, also WRITTEN in the post - and enough examples for each to establish it as a convention. Have a look at how I do similar vodcasts, with big, clear numbered titles between points and multiple examples.
Good analysis though, picking out many key points and denoting a good range of the media language used, though anchoring the protagonist - a typical aspect of the exam TV clips to write on - needs closer consideration of the editing and shot types (MCUs on him, long 3 shots on others etc), with opportunities to use the continuity editing terms learned from the prelim exercise.
